I plan to romance a Sera with a female Inquisitor. I will romance Solas with a female elf. I am planning a male Inquisitor for Dorian. Cullen will get his own Inquisitor. I plan to try them ALL.

I do not expect the game and the developers to cater to my needs.

The…

I just don’t understand the viciousness.  The BioWare developers are one of the few gaming companies that actually chat with the fandom whether its Twitter, etc.    I know it sucks you can’t romance who you want but people act as if Bioware is doing it intentionally. Some of the stuff I read on Tumblr this weekend was disturbing.   Alot of these people claim to be against bullying yet its okay to bully the developers.  All I am saying is people should play the game for making these assumptions.

Honestly I feel like so much of it is all these fans claiming to want diversity, but what they mean by diversity is essentially  ”make everyone bi so that my precious male quanri mage can fuck cullen and I don’t have to mod teh game”. So they all sort of miss the point that Bioware is actually doing a great job of providing diversity  by giving us gay, straight, AND bi characters.

So naturally you had all these people who planed out romancing Solas with their like male dwarf or some shit with out really knowing anything about him and they now all want to act victimized because BioWare put in another straight romance option and *gasp* it’s race gated~ So instead of taking it for what it is and accepting that if BioWare says it’s better this way for the story they are throwing bitch fits and threatening the Devs

Yeah. You’re right. I just never expect to get everything I would love to see or experience in the game. As for Solas…it gives me an extra incentive to play an elf character because I want to know why he is the way he is.

To.be perfectly honest that’s probably the best attitude to have about it.

I just think its going to be a more interesting game for it.   Each romance will have their own unique dialogue and the writers have hinted they are all special in their own way.

Been playing quite a bit of ME3 lately and have experienced all the romances and have gotten alot out of them even though I think some could have been done better.

I don’t think the same mistakes will be made in Inquisition.

Am I one of the few people who is not surprised by this revelation? Like, am I the only one who finds Solas’ romance option fitting for his character based off of what we know of him right now?

I’m actually curious to see if you get different responses/reactions from Solas if you play an elven mage. As an apprentice to the Keeper there would be so much lore and other ways of approaching magic outside of what the circle teaches that the two could discuss and bond over.

So I’ve mentioned before that I was deliberating on whether or not I’d go Elf or Qunari for my first playthrough (well maybe not on tumblr, but I’ve mentioned it somewhere gdi) and honestly this whole fiasco has pretty much sold me on what I want to play through first and who I’m gonna romance. I wasn’t even gonna play a mage, but now? I wanna see what’s up with Solas.

Definitely. This has made me look forward to elves again. I am actually excited to roll an elf just to get to know Solas to see what makes him tick. I have faith in Patrick Weekes. He wrote some of the best stuff in ME3. :)

Things I learned playing when ALOT of Mass Effect 3 lately

I played the game when it first came out but had to put it aside because the endings put me in a dark place.

I recently picked it up, modded it, and used that Gibbed game save tool so I can playthrough it to experience more of the love interests, etc.

Here are my meandering thoughts and the things I learned about the game.

First and foremost, when it comes to the romances I think the F/F fans got shafted the most.

Don’t get me wrong, Traynor was fantastic, but the romance should have had a bit more depth to it.   It just seems there was a lot of things got cut.    And the underwear shower scene was cringe worthy.  I could think of way sexier scenes they could have done and they would have been tasteful.

Now with Thane….I felt really let down by it, but the added content in the Citadel while giving me so many feels also gave me closure and it was a nice tribute to his character.

Garrus/femSHep was fantastic and had the most meat to it.  It made me smile, laugh, and gave me feels.

Kaidan/femShep was great.  I got so many feels from it as well but then I learned about the cut content from it and it sort of made me angry because it would have been even better than it was.

I will likely get told off for the this but I really enjoyed mShep/Cortez.  The dynamic was better.   It was the BEST of the non companion/squad romances.   They were hot together. Some of the lines Cortez had between missions were cute and sexy.   A lot of people say Shep did NOT give Cortez time to grieve which I think is sort of a lame excuse.

People grieve in their own way and with a galactic war it appears they made every moment count.

My canon mShep will always end up with Cortez.

I did not feel anything for mShep/Kaidan. There was little sweet and sexy dialogue between missions, and alot of the romance stuff was recycled from the femShep romance.    If the romance had more unique dialogue, I probably would think differently. For me, it just seemed like it was a last minute decision by the writers to add the romance.

About Jacob….my sympathy for all the Jacob fans. Experiencing it made me feel your pain.

Now for the non romance characters….. I really like Vega and Javikk.   I thought they were well written and they did NOT need to add that specific one night stand content in the Citadel dlc.

More thoughts later.

The people who send hate to the developers need to take a hard look in the mirror.

First, people should have NEVER assumed the game would be exactly like DA2.   All bets were off when they announced it was going to be a new game engine.

BioWare also does NOT do the same thing for every game.

There are plenty of choices. The only difference is you can’t romance who you want in this game.  They are NOT depriving you.

You will have to adapt.

We can’t get everything we want in life. Thats just how it is.

This game has more  replayability than the previous two games.

So about the Dragon Age Inquisition romances….

1) Planning to romance a human noble female with Sera

2) Planning to romance an elf  with Solas (since its been verfied he’s gated to elves)

3) Planning to romance a male human with Dorian

4) Planning to romance a female human with Cullen

I will likely play MORE than that but those are my plans so far. I have no issues with the romances.

We can’t get everything we want in this world….you learn to deal with it and adapt.  The Dragon Age Fandom has too many people who think the developers owe them something.

And to all the people that find Dorian’s mustache ugly. You should consider yourself lucky it does not look like this

Dorian is hot.  My male rogue Inquisitor will be quite happy with him
